Takehiko Hashimoto and Kosuke Fukunaka of AISC are appointed as industrial advisors of the Faculty of Data Science, Shiga University.
Takehiko Hashimoto and Kosuke Fukunaka, data scientists belonging to our AISC (AI Strategy Center), have been appointed as industrial advisors to the Faculty of Data Science at Shiga University since April this year.
Through educational activities at Shiga University, the first data science faculty in Japan that was born in 2017, we will contribute to the development of future data scientists and DX human resources.
Comment from Takehiko Hashimoto
em>As part of industry-academia collaboration, I have been in charge of data science practical theory B every year since the AI Strategy Center was launched in 2017.
In the lecture, we introduced case studies of data science utilization in Proptech (real estate tech) and conducted "Room search by data science" as PBL (Problem Based Learning) of real estate data analysis. I hope that it will lead to a concrete image of the job of a data scientist.
Comment from Kosuke Fukunaka
em> I think that data science will become an increasingly sought-after skill in the future as AI permeates companies. I feel that Shiga University's data science department does not stop at mere knowledge education, but also emphasizes a balance with practical learning, and is a university that develops extremely valuable education from the perspective of companies. I would like to contribute to industry-academia collaboration, which will become increasingly important in the future.
